AIB ScoreAI Brand Score: your brand's visibility score in AI enginesOne score: does AI recommend you

The score combines two things: how many of the AI engines' answers mention the brand, and in what tone they speak about it. It ranges from 0 to 100, and without mentions it is 0. Here we explain exactly how it is calculated, and what a reasonable number is for a small or medium business.

    What it looks like

Two businesses, two scores, and both are doing well

A score is measured against businesses of your size and type. A national company and an independent exterminator do not compete for the same answers, so not for the same number either.

A national brand the engines know from every angle: articles, comparison sites, Wikipedia. A score like this is very rare for a small business, and it is not the right comparison for a local one.

7 sounds low, but for a one-person local business it is the top quarter: more than half of businesses his size are not mentioned at all. And the tone is positive: when he is mentioned, he is recommended.

Where each one stands among small and medium businesses

The scale is stretched at the bottom, because that is where almost every business sits: median 0, top quarter from 4, top tenth from 10.

    The calculation

    Visibility times tone factor

Visibility is the percentage of answers in which the engine wrote the brand name or the domain. The tone factor is calculated only from those answers, because an answer that does not mention you has no tone toward you.

    AIB Score = Visibility % × (0.5 + Tone / 200)

Tone is the average sentiment score of the answers that mention the brand, from 0 (negative) to 100 (positive).

    × 0.5
    All mentions are negative
    × 0.75
    Neutral tone
    × 1
    All mentions are positive

That is, good tone can add up to a third to the score, and bad tone can subtract up to a third, but it never creates a score from zero. A brand that is not mentioned gets 0, even if all the other answers are completely positive.

    19

    20% × 0.925 = 19

    26

    Mention tone 30/100

    40% × 0.650 = 26

    What is a reasonable number

What small and medium businesses in Israel look like

69 small and medium Israeli businesses, 8,328 answers from AI engines to questions in Hebrew, from 20.09.2026 to 16.10.2026. The median is 0: more than half of the businesses were not mentioned in any answer.

    0

    Not mentioned

No engine wrote the brand name in any answer. This is the situation of most businesses, and it is not a malfunction: an engine recommends those it knows from sources it trusts.

    36 businesses (52%)

    1 to 9

    Early presence

The brand appears in a small part of the answers, usually in one or two engines and on the most specific questions. About a third of the businesses are here.

    25 businesses (36%)

    10 to 24

    Above average

The top tenth of small and medium businesses. The brand is mentioned consistently, and usually in more than one engine.

    5 businesses (7%)

    25 to 49

    Industry leaders

The brand is one of the fixed answers in its field. Very few small businesses reach this level.

    2 businesses (3%)

    50 and above

    Rare

The engines mention the brand in most questions. For a small business this happens mainly when the field is very narrow or when the questions include the brand name.

    1 businesses (1%)

On visibility alone, without tone: the median is 0%, the top quarter is mentioned in 5% of answers or more, and the top tenth in 13.3% or more. The highest score in the group was 54.

    Method and limitations

    What exactly is measured

    • Mention. The engine wrote the brand name or the domain in the answer, as a whole word. A site that appears only in the list of sources is not counted as a mention.
    • The engines. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews. Each engine receives the question as is and searches on its own.
    • The period. In the project list, the last 30 days. Answers from before 20.09.2026 are not counted, because the definition of a mention changed then and the engines began searching on their own.
    • The baseline. Businesses measured in the measurement system of the team that develops GEGO, with at least 40 answers per business. That system does not measure tone, so their scores were calculated with the neutral factor (0.75). For you, with real tone, the score can be up to a third higher or lower.
    • The questions. The questions are written for each business separately, so the same business will get a different score with different questions. The score is best for comparing the same project over time.

    FAQ

    Questions about the score

    Why is my score 0?

Because in none of the answers in the last month did the engines write the brand name or the domain. A link to the site in the list of sources, without the name written in the answer, is not counted as a mention. This is the situation of about half of the small and medium businesses we measured.

    Why not the average sentiment?

Because an answer that does not mention you has no tone toward you. If it is counted as 'neutral', a brand that appears nowhere gets 50 out of 100, which is exactly what the score is meant to expose. So tone is measured only in answers where the brand was mentioned, and it can raise or lower a score, not create one.

What counts as a good score for a small business?

Any score above 0 already puts you in the upper half. 4 and above is the top quarter, 10 and above is the top tenth, and 25 and above is exceptional. Large, well-known brands reach much higher numbers, so the right comparison is with businesses of your size and in your field.

Over what period is the score calculated?

In the project list, over the last 30 days. In the project dashboard, over the data selected there. A single weekly scan in which one mention was added or dropped can move the score of a small business by several points, so it is better to look at the trend and not at a single scan.

How do you raise the score?

First make sure the engines can read the site and understand who stands behind it (Agent Ready check). Then check, in the questions where competitors are mentioned and you are not, which sources the engines cite, and be present in them: content that answers exactly the question, clear service pages, and mentions on sites the engines already trust.

    What is your AIB Score?

A first scan across the five engines, and a score broken down by engine and by question.
